Halloween Activities In Eugene

With Halloween fast approaching we thought it would be a good idea to come up with a quick list of local activities that capture the spirit of the season.

Thistledown Farms Pumpkin Patch and Hayride

Carving a pumpkin is far more satisfying when you picked it from the patch yourself. Thistle Down Farms offers horse drawn hayrides to their pumpkin patch that make for a lovely Saturday afternoon. After the ride, treat yourself to their fresh apple cider paired with tasty cake donuts!

Corn Maze at Lone Pine farms

If you’re looking for a good scare this October, spend an evening at Lone Pine Farm’s Haunted Corn Maze. This 10 acre labyrinth is populated by monsters, ghosts, and chainsaw wielding psychopaths. The maze operates Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Halloween, bring good shoes and a flashlight!

The masonic cemetery

Most people are familiar with the pioneer cemetery next to campus, but the Masonic Cemetery a few blocks to the South is actually far creepier and more historic. Eugene Skinner is buried here (the founder of Eugene), can you find his grave? Visit at dusk and make your way through the overgrown stone rows for a hair raising experience.

Mount Pisgah's Abandoned House

For the truly brave among you, Mount Pisgah offers an experience that is legitimately scary. In the Northwest portion of the park is a boarded up decaying house, that is spooky enough from the outside… our little secret to you is that you can actually get in it! Stay tuned for details in a future post.
